Programme Description

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is suitable for new applicants who want enter the nursing profession as well as for practicing nurses who wish to upgrade their professional status. This programme has two tracks: general and psychiatric nursing. The programme is designed to produce nursing professionals who are equipped to function more efficiently and effectively in the constantly changing dynamics of the modern health care environment. Through the curriculum, students develop an in-depth understanding of nursing philosophy, nursing theory and conceptual frameworks that underpin nursing practice. They also acquire critical thinking skills and the ability to engage in evidence-based practice, professional reflection and visioning, thereby ensuring their readiness to make a meaningful contribution to nursing leadership and management in Trinidad and Tobago.
