COSTAATT’s Disability Declaration Statement

Persons living with disabilities MUST declare their disability by contacting the Department of Health, Counselling and Student Support Services. These disabilities may include, but are not limited to, physical, psycho-emotional, neurodivergent, and other impairments. A disability does not disqualify applicants from admission to COSTAATT.   Rather, declaring a disability ensures that we fully understand your specific needs and can proactively collaborate with you to provide reasonable support and accommodations. Department Email: healthsupport@costaatt.edu.tt

Placement Tests

  • Applicants who receive an offer of a place in a programme may receive a placement assessment invitation from the Admissions Department. Do not be alarmed! If you do not pass or do as well as you expect, this will not affect your entry into the College.
  • You may be exempt from taking the evaluations in English Language and Mathematics if you already meet the requisite level of achievement. The results of these assessments help us determine whether you may benefit from academic support. If needed, we will place you in the appropriate level course to help you succeed in your major.
  • Please note that placement assessments are conducted online.

Remember, this is an important step towards your academic success!

Interviews or Auditions

Some programmes require additional steps in the application process, including interviews or auditions. These are typically for highly competitive or specialised programmes where further assessment of skills, experience, or suitability is necessary. The following programmes requires an interview or audition.

Nursing Programme:

  • Interview Requirement: All applicants to the Nursing Programme will be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
  • Interview Details: The interview will assess your communication skills, commitment to the healthcare field, and understanding of the program. Applicants will be notified of the interview schedule after the initial application review. Thereafter, you will be informed of your admissions decision by your admissions counsellor.

Performing Arts Programmes (Music):

  • Audition Requirement: Applicants for the Performing Arts Music programme must complete an audition as part of the admissions process.
  • Audition Details:
    • A recorded performance showcasing a solo performance on your chosen instrument or voice, along with sight-reading or a brief interview will be utilised to assess applicants to this programme.
    • Applicants will then be notified of the admissions decision and further instructions once the application is processed.

What to Expect

  • Interviews and auditions are scheduled by the academic department after application review.
  • Be prepared to discuss your experience, qualifications, and motivation.
  • Notifications will be sent via email with detailed instructions, dates, and requirements.
