COSTAATT is pleased to continue its partnership with the School Clubs Leadership Academy, an initiative of the St. Mary’s College Past Students’ Union, for the second consecutive year. Now entering its fourth year, the Academy provides secondary school students across Trinidad and Tobago with an opportunity to develop essential leadership skills through an engaging, experiential learning programme.
Designed as a mini-MBA-style programme for current and aspiring student leaders, the Academy equips participants with practical skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, planning, fundraising and change management. Students also benefit from engaging with experienced professionals and connecting with peers from secondary schools across the country.
About the Programme
The School Clubs Leadership Academy is designed for students who lead, or aspire to lead, school clubs, teams and student organisations. The programme combines interactive learning, practical exercises and guidance from experienced professionals in business, academia and other fields.
The Academy’s five core modules are:
- Leading Self: Developing self-awareness, confidence and an understanding of personal strengths.
- Leading Others: Planning, time management and conducting effective meetings.
- Communication: Motivating volunteers and effectively presenting and pitching ideas.
- Fundraising: Financial sustainability and financial controls.
- Leading Change: Managing change, challenges and crises
Programme Details – 2027 Cohort
Dates: Saturday 13, 20 and 27 February 2027
Delivery: Three interactive online seminars and three in-person sessions.
Locations: Port of Spain and San Fernando.
Eligibility: Male and female secondary school students who currently hold or aspire to leadership roles in school clubs, teams and organisations.
Cost: Participation is FREE. A modest voluntary contribution towards the programme T-shirt is welcomed from students who can afford it.
Attendance: Participants are required to attend all programme sessions.
