COSTAATT and the MSYA partner for the first cohort of the HOST Programme

Date Posted

The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, in partnership with the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT), has officially kicked off the teaching in the Hospitality Operations Service Training (HOST) Programme. This initiative was launched on 27th February, 2026, after which applications were open and participants selected. Through this impactful youth development initiative, 100 young citizens will be empowered by equipping them with the industry-ready skills needed to thrive in Trinidad and Tobago’s growing hospitality and tourism sectors.

Led by veteran facilitator Richard Carrington, the introductory session welcomed enthusiastic participants embarking on a comprehensive, 10-week Food and Beverage Service course. Offered through COSTAATT’s School of Workforce Enhancement and Development, the curriculum bridges crucial service gaps by blending technical knowledge with extensive hands-on training in fine-dining etiquette, table setup, food safety, and customer care.

Graduates of the HOST programme will earn three transferable micro-credential credits from COSTAATT, positioning them for immediate employment and entrepreneurial success. By cultivating a passion for “Service Excellence,” COSTAATT and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs continue to invest in the nation’s youth, transforming them into professional ambassadors for our local hospitality industry.
