Strengthening Partnerships for Digital Innovation and Inclusion

The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) recently welcomed representatives from the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) on February 4th 2026, for a strategic engagement focused on advancing digital transformation, innovation, and access across the country.

During the visit, COSTAATT’s leadership team, Kevin Ramsoobhag, Vice President of IT and Digital Transformation; Darren Headley, Director of Information Technology; and Fayola Nicholas, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, formally presented tokens of appreciation to the TATT delegation. The recipients included Kurleigh Prescod, Chief Executive Officer; Aaron Simon, Telecommunications Engineer II; and Conrad Toby, Manager of Spectrum Planning and Broadcasting.

The engagement formed part of a broader dialogue on potential areas of collaboration between COSTAATT and TATT, with a shared focus on improving digital access for underserved communities, strengthening national digital infrastructure, and fostering innovation-led development.

As part of the visit, the TATT team toured COSTAATT’s TechHub, gaining first-hand exposure to a range of advanced learning and innovation spaces. These included labs dedicated to digitisation, 3D printing, Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality (VR), drone training, and other emerging technologies that support applied learning, research, and entrepreneurship.

Discussions also explored opportunities to align regulatory insight with academic innovation, creating pathways that support student development, industry readiness, and entrepreneurial growth. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging technology as a catalyst for inclusive development and future-focused skills training.

This visit underscores COSTAATT’s role as a national hub for digital innovation and applied technology, and highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in building a more connected, innovative, and digitally empowered Trinidad and Tobago.
