Date Posted

The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) proudly congratulates Senior Lecturer, Christian Casey-Lee Virgil, on his featured presentation in the 2026 e-Seminar Series, hosted on April 1, 2026.

Dr. Virgil delivered an insightful presentation titled, “A Balanced Approach to Assessing Climate Risk Adaptive Capacity in Food and Beverage Subsector Organisations: Incorporating the Self-Assessment Methodology.”

This timely and impactful research addresses a critical gap in understanding how organisations within Trinidad and Tobago’s food and beverage manufacturing sector can better assess and strengthen their resilience to climate-related risks.

Advancing Research that Matters

Dr. Virgil’s work explores the adaptive capacity of organisations in the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Subsector (FEMS), highlighting the urgent need for structured tools to evaluate and improve climate risk readiness.

The findings reveal that while adaptive capacity elements are not yet widely implemented, they offer significant potential to strengthen organisational performance and resilience in the face of climate change.

Strengthening National and Regional Impact

This contribution reinforces COSTAATT’s commitment to applied research that supports industry development, sustainability, and national resilience. By addressing real-world challenges in key economic sectors, our faculty continue to shape solutions that extend beyond academia into policy and practice.
