COSTAATT and Toronto Metropolitan University Sign Agreement to Foster Collaboration

COSTAATT and Toronto Metropolitan University signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding in June 2025 to strengthen academic and research collaboration. The agreement provides a framework for joint projects, international events, research partnerships, and staff mobility, creating new opportunities for students and faculty at both institutions.

TMU, formerly Ryerson University, is recognized for its career-focused, entrepreneurship-driven education and its integration of theory with real-world experience through internships. This approach aligns closely with COSTAATT’s emphasis on applied learning, internships, and work-study programs.

Planned areas of collaboration include:

  • Joint academic programs at graduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervision of visiting research students and project-based activities.
  • Conferences, seminars, and symposia.
  • Academic staff exchanges and research initiatives.

Discussions are also underway on global program delivery and joint initiatives in creative industries, business, and entrepreneurship, where the institutions share strong alignment.

According to COSTAATT President, Dr. Keith Nurse, this partnership builds on the college’s commitment to developing future skills through applied learning. He added that by working with TMU, doors are opening for students and staff to benefit from global networks and best practices.

The MOU runs until June 2030, with the option to renew for additional five-year terms.
