On Wednesday 16th March 2011, COSTAATT officially launched its YTC/COMPASS Programme at the Youth Training Centre, Golden Grove Road, Arouca. The programme is a partnership between the Ministry of National Security and COSTAATT’s community outreach programme, where 19 young men from YTC are enrolled in the Compensatory Programmes and Academic Support Services (COMPASS).

The COMPASS programme at COSTAATT is an alternative pathway to tertiary level education for students who have the aptitude and desire to pursue tertiary education but are currently academically under-prepared. Taught by professionally trained, qualified and experienced lecturers, the programme will be offered on site at the Golden Grove Road facility, and will help the students acquire the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively at tertiary level.

COSTAATT’s partnership with the Youth Training Facility is a continuation of our community outreach initiative at the St. Jude’s Home for Girls’. The College  continues to look for avenues to transform lives, by creating educational opportunities throughout the country.
