Akeela Marin is a communications professional, youth advocate, and award-winning public speaker passionate about social development, environmental sustainability, and crime reduction. Raised in Navet Village, Rio Claro, she credits her rural upbringing and her parents’ values of hard work and contentment as the foundation of her character.In 2018, Akeela earned global recognition as the 3rd best public speaker in the world among university students, affirming her exceptional talent as an orator. She is equally passionate about writing, often sharing life lessons, reflections on faith, and commentary on social and political issues, guided by her Christian values and a transparent, self-reflective approach.Akeela holds a Master’s in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change from the University of the West Indies, Mona, and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from COSTAATT. An adventurer at heart, she continues to champion equity, empowerment, and transformation across communities.
