School of Workforce Enhancement and Development
Upskilling Academy
Programme Description
This course provides teachers, parents and caregivers with strategies for teaching children with intellectual and developmental disabilities at home and in early childhood or elementary education settings. Intellectual and developmental disabilities affect the trajectory of a child’s physical, intellectual and/or emotional development. This prompts the need for appropriate intervention. Participants will explore the effects of the disabilities and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for providing meaningful educational accommodation and adaptation techniques to address those needs.
