Programme Description

This programme focuses on teaching students about destination management models and ideas, as well as management demands and processes in the tourism industry. It prepares students to deal with tourists/visitors, host communities, the private sector, and the public sector in a variety of destinations to help a destination achieve sustainability and improve tourism/ visitor satisfaction. The programme looks at the issues of modern tourism marketing in the context of sustainable destination management and marketing. The role of destination management organisations and community destination sites in the visitor experience (creation and promotion), as well as the function of governments in destination recovery after crises, are also important themes within this programme.
Requirements
Minimum five (5) CSEC/GCE O’ Level subjects, inclusive of English A and Mathematics, Grades 1,2,3* or A, B, C. *Grade 3 accepted if attained in June 1998 and beyond.
