Programme Description

This certificate programme is designed to provide training for persons who have at least three (3) years’ work experience in records management in a public or private sector organization. Students will examine topics such as the classification, storage, preservation, retention and disposal of records.
Requirements
Minimum entry into the certificate is three (3) CSEC passes with Grades I, II, (and III after 1998); including Mathematics and English
Applicants with relevant “A” Level or CAPE passes with grades A or B at GCE “A” Levels or I or II at CAPE can be considered for advanced standing through exemptions or transfer of credits.
Applicants with an Associate Degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 can be admitted with advanced standing and transfer of credit.
Mature Entry: Students over 25 with a minimum of 5 years work experience in the relevant discipline. Detailed CV required to be submitted with application form. Interviews may be required by the applicant. Students using this option for entry can access PLAR for advanced standing in the programme. Students with vendor and industry certification will be considered for entry into the program but must still take the placement test.
Transfer Students – Students currently enrolled in an associate degree offered by COSTAATT or another institution or a bachelor’s degree programme can be considered for admission as transfer students and seek advanced standing in the programme.
