Programme Description
The Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) consists of courses which lay the foundation for seamless transition to the associate and bachelor’s in ECCE programmes. The programme includes a three (3) week practicum to engage students in preparation of lessons plans, creation of learning materials and the utilisation of VAPA techniques in teaching and learning. The Certificate also provides the opportunity for students to acquire the skills to manage an ECCE centre. On completion of the Certificate, a graduate may be employed as a teaching assistant in the ECCE sector.
Requirements
Minimum entry into the certificate is three (3) CSEC passes with Grades I, II, (and III after 1998); English A must be one of them.
