Programme Description

This Associate in Applied Science Degree in CAT Reporting prepares the student to be a real-time verbatim reporter. The programme design allows for immersion into skill building from onset. Participants are required to develop excellent listening skills, powers of concentration and above average vocabulary and punctuation skills. Participants are also required to become proficient in the use of the steno machine and Eclipse software for the production of playback notes, or accurate transcripts.
Requirements
Five (5) CSEC (CXC)/GCE passes including English Language at Grade 1 or 2 only.
Applicants with either A/O Level pass in General Paper, English Literature CAPE/A’ Level, and/or a foreign language, together with keyboarding skills will be considered as an asset in admissions decisions for the programme.
