COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this introductory course, participants will explore the theory and reasoning behind certain makeup techniques to better understand the cause and effect relationship as it relates to makeup application. Upon completion, this understanding helps participants to hone their skills to create a variety of desired looks. Participants should become competent in these areas through demonstrations and practice activities. Specific focus is placed on the following:

− Science behind skin care
− Identifying your skin tone for base matching
− Tool and brush selection
− Color theory
− Eyeshadow application techniques
− Highlighting and contouring
− Eyelashes
