Introduction to Drawing and Painting
This course provides an opportunity for students to develop a keen sensitive eye along with an understanding of materials and subjects of drawing. Through lectures and hands-on experience, the students will begin with how one perceives an image, through a broad spectrum and diverse techniques of drawing practice. Students will learn to appreciate the indispensable role of drawing as an important aspect of art making. This course will facilitate a study of drawing through problem solving. The problems, or drawing situations, presented in each class, will focus on issues of gesture, spatial relationships, shape, value, line, texture, perspective, and subjective interpretations.
Applicants seeking admissions to this short course must be sixteen (16) years and over.
